National Commercial Bank Saudi NCB


The National Commercial Bank NCB is one of the largest Saudi institutions throughout the history of the Kingdom and is considered the first Saudi bank, as it was established by a royal decree from the Royal High Court on Rabi’ Al-Thani 20, 1373 AH corresponding to December 26, 1953 AD as a Saudi public company by merging the largest banks in the Kingdom, namely “Salem Bin Mahfouz” and the “Saleh and Abdel Aziz Kaaki” company, to be the first Saudi bank after they merge, called the National Commercial Bank, and legally registered at the time.

  • The vision of the National Bank, since the day of its establishment, became to become one of the pioneers of financial services in the Kingdom, and to set goals and strategies to help it achieve that vision.
  • It is now striving to be the best bank in electronic services, the first in customer service, the strongest in income and profits, and to become the only choice for customers.
  • These tireless efforts to achieve the bank’s strategic goals have reaped fruit, as the bank has achieved outstanding results over four consecutive years, the last of these years was the year 2017 AD, in which the bank’s profits rose by 2.5%, bringing the total profits to 80.9 billion Saudis.


History of the National Commercial Bank of Saudi Arabia NCB


  • The National Commercial Bank is the oldest of the banks in the Kingdom, and is considered the first Saudi bank of origin, as the bank began its activities under a royal order issued by the Royal Court on Rabi’ Thani 20 1373 AH corresponding to December 26, 1953 AD.
  • In 1999, the Saudi government, represented by the General Investment Fund, entered the majority of the bank's sukuk, and the National Bank, represented in the Saudi government, has direct ownership of 90.71% of the shares of Al-Ahly Financial Company, the leading investment banking company.
  • Ahli Bank also owns 67.03% of the Turkish Finance Katilim Bankasi, the first bank in the Islamic banking sector in Turkey.

The year 2014 witnessed one of the most important milestones in the history of the bank, where 25% of the bank’s shares were offered for public subscription, and this announced the beginning of a new era in which the bank would share its results with its investors through expansion operations in various sectors and fields, and this may make the bank witness an upward growth in its profits in over the coming years.
